Namecoin is merge-mined with Bitcoin: mine BTC on BCMonster and earn NMC on the same hashrate, at no extra power cost.
Nothing changes on your miner. Without an NMC address on your profile, merge-mined NMC can't be paid to you, so add it once.
Namecoin (2011) was the first fork of Bitcoin and the first coin to use merge mining (AuxPoW): the same SHA-256 work that tries for a Bitcoin block also counts toward Namecoin blocks. That lets Bitcoin miners secure Namecoin without spending any extra electricity.
x = pool (PPLNS), m=solo = solo (you keep the whole block). Or use the dedicated solo port.Mine Bitcoin on BCMonster and add a Namecoin payout address in your wallet profile. NMC is merge-mined automatically on all BTC ports with no miner changes.
No. Merge mining reuses the same proof of work, so your BTC mining is unchanged and NMC is extra.
